Sam the Cooking Guy

Sam the Cooking GuyWhen I first considered the lasik procedure, friends and family thought I was nuts – but not because of the risks. They just believed my dark rimmed glasses had become such an important part of my look, it would have been be crazy to change it. And I totally agreed. My on camera TV life was me with glasses and I had no intention of messing with that. What I did want to change was my off camera life – all the things you hear in commercials – waking up and seeing the clock, swimming, exercising, playing with my kids (or wife) falling asleep on the sofa – that kind of stuff.

So I went for it. And I’ll admit to being a little nervous at first, but it turned out there was no need to be nervous – at all. Dr Gordon and his staff are amazing, and I truly mean that. From the second I walked in, they put me at ease. Even though they’ve performed the procedure thousands of times before, they know this is your first time. The treatment and care is really special. Come on now, how many doctors call you at home to see how you are?

The thing is, I still have to look like Sam the Cooking Guy on TV so I wear glasses, only now the lenses have no prescription and my look hasn’t changed. But what has changed is my life, and now all the crazy stuff from the commercials I can do, when I want with no glasses on.
